As many of you know, weddings are something I just recently started doing. I did my first on a beach in 2014, my second in Newport, RI in the fall of 2015, and my third (this post) was a beautiful backyard garden wedding in my old neighborhood, which made this even more special. I love capturing family memories, but there’s something special about weddings. I’m a sucker for love. I rarely cry, but when I do it’s usually during a sappy romantic comedy, a sweet moment during a TV show, or a sappy animal commercial. I also ALWAYS cry at weddings. Doesn’t matter whose it is; I will cry.
Let me back up for a little back story. Jilyan and I grew up four houses apart from one another. We both rode horses and even competed together from time to time. We were friendly growing up, but after high school, lost touch. Fast forward to this past Spring. I saw an inquiry come through on Thumbtack for a wedding in Newburyport, from a Jilyan. I immediately though “I only know one Jilyan that spells her name that way. Could it be the same one?”
Sure enough, it was. And the rest is history.
Their wedding day was incredible. Held at her family home in Newburyport, her backyard transformed into a beautiful outdoor venue, with stunning gardens, decorations and more. The weather was perfect. 70s and sunny, with a breeze. Love filled the air. It was special. It was meaningful. And it was beautiful.
And in case you’re wondering, yes, I cried.
No more words. Time to enjoy Jilyan and Stewart’s beautiful garden wedding.
That moment when Mom sees you walking down the aisle…
Congratulations Jilyan + Stewart. Thank you for having me be part of your special day. I wish you a lifetime of love + happiness!
