I’m loving shooting weddings more and more. Spending the day, witnessing two people so in love, devote their lives to each other is amazing. Being able to capture that is absolutely magical. I’m pretty sure every wedding I’ve shot so far, I’ve been secretly tearing up behind the lens.
This one wasn’t the exception either. Laura came to me through a mutual friend and was looking for someone to capture their super laid back wedding day. I knew from the moment we started chatting I was going to adore everything about her, her family and this wedding. When we met up to really dive into the planning phase, I was even more excited. Their day was going to be extremely laid back, but filled with details very important to them. As runners, incorporating their love for running was extremely important. In fact, they both wore custom running shoes, and they were married in front of a “Start” race banner. The morning before the wedding, they held a 5K trail run.
But one of my favorite parts, besides the whole wedding part. The first look,
Laura and Matt decided to do one, but what Matt didn’t know what that Laura was going to surprise him with their beloved dog dressed up in a bow tie. My heart melted when she told me this.
The day arrived, and they had perfect summer weather. The Maudslay Arts Center was adorned in their favorite colors and flowers, with images of their family spread throughout. It was truly a family affair.
