When I found out that one of my coworkers and her girlfriend had gotten engaged, I literally cried tears of joy. They got engaged during a Pride event in Portsmouth, outside of the Starbucks that is near and dear to their heart. I was ecstactic for them. I couldn’t wait to see Sam at work and congratulate her and welcome her to the “married & soon-to-be married” club. I knew I wanted to do something special for them. Sam and Kelly are two of the sweetest people I know. They have huge hearts and are so incredibly caring. Wonderful human-beings.
I knew immediately that I wanted to give them an engagement session. Something to capture this special time in their lives and capture their love for one another.
We had to break our session into two smaller sessions due to a storm rolling in on the first, but it worked out great and I was beyond thrilled with the photos we got.
The first evening, we met at their condo and did pictures with their beloved dog, Holly. Holly really only cared about taking a swim in the lake, but we did get her to sit still to take a few shots with her Moms.
We then headed up to Portsmouth, to take some shots in front of the Starbucks so near & dear to their hearts, as well as some shots on one of the cool side streets. We had to cut it short as a storm started to roll in, so we packed up and headed home.
Night two couldn’t have been more perfect. Like some of the best weather we had all summer, perfect. We met down on Plum Island after work and took full advantage of the beautiful evening light. We had so much fun.
Now, they are off to get MARRIED! If you haven’t heard of Bride Pride in Provincetown, check it out. Sam & Kelly be one of the many couples being married (or having a vow-renewal) by comedian, Kate Clinton, and hopefully making it into the Guineas Book of World Records. They need at least 100 couples.
This was such a special shoot for me. I loved being able to do this for two people who I care so much about. Sam & Kelly are so madly in love with one another, and that’s all that matters.
Congratulations to the happy couple! I can’t wait to celebrate with you!
