It’s taken me awhile to write this post because I wanted it to be perfect. Because that’s how the day was.
But I realized that the best way to tell their story was to share the images from that day.
Rebecca and Mike were married on October 17, 2015 at Hotel Viking in Newport, Rhode Island. I was so honored that they asked me to be a part of their big day. From getting ready in the morning, to their “I Do’s”, their first dance on a cliff overlooking the water and the reception at The Castle Hill Inn, it was magical and day filled with love.
I won’t write too much of a post. I want the pictures to tell their love story.
Special thanks to Darla for being my second shooter for the day!
We started the day with Rebecca as she prepared to marry the love of her life. Her dress was just stunning. Classic and elegant. Her shoes were emblazoned with the Michigan logo (Go Blue!) and everything was sparkly and perfect. While Darla stayed with the ladies as they got ready, I headed down to spend some time with Mike as he prepared for the big day, and to open the gift from his bride. After it was on to family formals and bridal portraits with the stunning bride. Then it was time capture some photos of just Rebecca, who was absolutely glowing.
Before we knew it, it was ceremony time. Darla and I headed over to Kay Chapel to capture some candids before the ceremony started. The ceremony was just lovely, with beautiful readings, quiet moments and even the exchanging of the Ring Pops! Okay, they didn’t actually exchange ring pops, but when the rings were asked for, Mike’s best man handed the ring pops over first.
Finally, Rebecca and Mike were MARRIED, and it was on to the father/daughter dance in the courtyard of the Hotel Viking, before it was off to Rebecca and Mike’s first dance as a married couple on a cliff off of Ledge Road, overlooking the sparkling waters. It was private affair, with just a handful of people and the violinist. Can I just tell you how incredibly romantic it was? We captured some formals while we were there too.
Our main formal spot was at a little pull-off on the way to the reception. It was an inlet surrounded by water, cliffs and beautiful homes, making for some truly Newport images.
Then it was on to celebrate with a small lunch reception at Castle Hill Inn.
It was a beautiful day filled with love, and I was so honored to be a part of it.
Congratulations Rebecca and Mike!
