One of my favorite ways to celebrate summer is to hold my annual Summer Mini Sessions on the beach. I started it a couple of years ago (the first year was held up at Great Island Common in New Castle, NH) but after dealing with a hellish parking situation, crowded beaches and spots, and not enough shade, I changed it up last year and decided to do them in the early-late evening and on Plum Island.
The early evening light is my favorite shoot in (like most photographers) and I’ve always loved the glow it gives the photos. I even love the hazy light it sometimes creates. Last year, we had a blast with them, so I couldn’t wait for the 2015 beach mini sessions.
The first evening of the beach mini sessions, we completely lucked out with weather. No humidity, about 70 degrees, and barely a cloud in the sky. I had three wonderful sessions ahead, and I couldn’t have been more excited. The first session of the day was a wonderful family who drove all the way to Plum Island from Central MA, and had heard about me through my good friend Lindsey (you can check out her beach session here!) I was really looking forward to meeting them and their adorable almost-two daughter!
I was really excited when I discovered they brought pink balloons along for the session. I love balloons and love what they can add to photos during a session. Turns out Miss D loves balloons too. We took lots of photos of her with her balloons as well as her adorable monkey, George.
Enough talking, time to show of the cuteness.
